[Jung Kook] : If you wanna, if you wanna, I'll do the thing for you

If you wanna, if you wanna

[Jung Kook, Jimin] : Baby, oh, please

세상이: the world (subject)

  • 세상 (world) + -이 (subject marker)

우릴: us (object)

  • 우리 (we / us) + -를 (object marker) → 우릴 (contracted form of 우리를)

갈라놓을 때: when (it) separates / when (it) pulls apart

  • 가르다 (to divide / split) → 갈라- (irregular stem change) + 놓다 (to put/leave → adds sense of completing and leaving it that way) → 갈라놓다 (to split apart completely / leave separated) + -을 때 (when / at the time that…)

Baby, oh, please

한 걸음 더: one more step / a step further

  • 한 (one) + 걸음 (step) + 더 (more / further)

다가설게: I’ll move closer / I’ll come closer

  • 다가서다 (to approach / step closer) + -ㄹ게 (future ending showing the speaker’s intention or promise → “I’ll…”)

I'm on my knees

함께해 줘: please be with me / stay with me

  • 함께하다 (to be together / do together) + -아/어 주다 (to do something “for” someone → adds a nuance of consideration/request) → 함께해 줘 (informal request: “please do it for me”)

나의: my

  • 나 (I / me) + -의 (possessive marker) → 나의 (my)

: you (object)

  • 너 (you) + -를 (object marker) → 널 (contracted form of 너를)

: more

세게: strongly / tightly

  • 세다 (to be strong) + -게 (adverbial ending → “in a strong way”)

안을게: I’ll hold / I’ll hug

  • 안다 (to hug / hold) + -을게 (future ending showing the speaker’s intention/promise → “I’ll…”)

All I want is you

네가: you (subject)

  • 너 (you) + -가 (subject marker) → 네가

있는: that exists / that you are in

  • 있다 (to exist / to be) + -는 (present attributive modifier → “that is… / that you are…”)

곳이라면: if it’s a place / if it’s where

  • 곳 (place) + -이다 (to be) + -라면 (conditional → “if it is… / if it’s…”)

: I / me

따라가리: I will follow / I shall go after

  • 따라가다 (to follow / go along after) + -리 (volitional/poetic future ending → expresses strong intention or resolve, often used in lyrics)

가시밭길쯤은: even something like a thorny path (at least / as much as a thorny road)

  • 가시밭길 (thorny path → 가시 “thorn” + 밭 “field” + 길 “road/path,” meaning a harsh/difficult road in life) + -쯤 (approximately / about / “something like this level”) + -은 (topic marker → adds contrast like “as for this much… / even this…”)

: I / me

신기해: I find it amusing / fascinating / nothing to me

  • 신기하다 (to be fascinating / novel) → 신기해 (informal present) → here, not literal “fascinating,” but more like “this level of hardship doesn’t even faze me” / “it’s almost laughable to me.”

즈려밟지: (I) trample / crush underfoot

  • 즈려밟다 (to stomp down / trample harshly) + -지 (emphatic ending → adds assertive tone like “you know / I do”)

*The verb 즈려밟다 (“to press down underfoot”) is best known from Kim Sowol’s poem 진달래꽃, where it describes stepping on flowers laid out in an act of quiet, sorrowful devotion. In the poem, the speaker lets a loved one go while offering something beautiful to be stepped on, knowing it will be lost. SUGA reuses this same rare word with a “thorny path,” shifting it from gentle sacrifice to strength and determination, and because 꽃길 (“flower path”) represents an easy, happy path while 가시밭길 (“thorny path”) is its opposite, the line conveys a willingness to push through hardship without hesitation, while also showing how he draws on traditional Korean literature in an intentional and meaningful way.

세상은: as for the world / the world (topic)

  • 세상 (the world / society / external reality) + -은 (topic marker → sets “the world” as the general subject being talked about, often implying contrast like “as for the world…”)

말야: you know / I’m saying (soft, conversational emphasis)

  • 말 (speech / words) + 이다 (to be → links “말” to existence, meaning “it is words” → naturally interpreted as “what I’m saying is…” or “the point is…”) → -이야 (informal present tense copula ending) → 말야 (contracted spoken form) → used as a filler/emphasis phrase to soften the tone and make it sound reflective or explanatory

*말야 doesn’t add literal meaning to the sentence—it functions as a discourse marker (a filler/emphasis expression) that softens the statement, signals explanation or clarification, adds a slightly emotional or reflective tone, and draws the listener in with a feeling like “you know” or “I’m telling you.”

항상: always

우리: we / us (referring here to the speaker and the other person together)

사이를: the space/relationship between (object)

  • 사이 (space, gap, or relationship between two people → can be emotional or physical distance) + -를 (object marker → marks this as what is being acted on)

막지: (it) blocks / gets in the way, you know (soft assertion)

  • 막다 (to block / obstruct / hinder) + -지 (sentence ending → adds a tone of “you know,” “as expected,” signaling shared understanding rather than new information)

결국엔: in the end / eventually (emphasizes final outcome after everything)

  • 결국 (in the end / ultimately) + -에 (at / in / to → location/time marker → here it frames “결국” as a point or stage, like “at / in the end”) + -는 (topic/contrast marker → adds nuance like “as for,” “when it comes to,” or slight contrast with expectations) → 엔 (contraction in natural speech)

우린: we / as for us (topic, casual contraction)

  • 우리 (we / us) + -는 (topic marker) → 우린 (contracted form)

돌고: turn and / go around and (first action, connected)

  • 돌다 (to turn / go in circles) + -고 (connector → links actions in sequence “and then”)

돌아서: turning and / after going around (continuation with slight sense of result or transition)

  • 돌다 (to turn / go around) + -아서 (connector → “and then / so” with a flowing continuation, often implying consequence or natural sequence)

제자리: the original place / same spot (destination/result)

  • 우리 (we / us) + -를 (object marker) → 우릴 (contracted form of 우리를)

갈라놓을 때: when (it) separates / when (it) pulls apart

  • 가르다 (to divide / split) → 갈라- (irregular stem change) + 놓다 (to put/leave → adds sense of completing and leaving it that way) → 갈라놓다 (to split apart completely / leave separated) + -을 때 (when / at the time that…)

All I want is you

[Jung Kook, V, & j-hope] : If you wanna, if you wanna, I'll do the thing for you (Ayy)

If you wanna, if you wanna, I'll do a thing for you

If you wanna, if you wanna, I'll do the thing for you

If you wanna, if you wanna, I'll do a thing—

: I / me

기쁨을: joy (object)

  • 기쁨 (joy / happiness) + -을 (object marker → marks “joy” as what is felt)

느꼈다면: if (I) felt / if (I had felt) (hypothetical condition)

  • 느끼다 (to feel) + -었- (past tense → “felt”) + -다면 (conditional ending → “if (it were the case that)…”)

너에게: to you (indirect object / direction of giving or feeling)

  • 너 (you) + -에게 (dative particle → “to/for” someone, marking the target of an action or feeling)

오직: only / solely / just (emphasizes exclusivity)

: look / see (imperative → drawing attention)

  • 보다 (to see) → 봐 (informal command → “look,” “see”)

내 잔이: my cup (subject)

  • 내 (my) + 잔 (cup / glass → can be literal or metaphorical) + -이 (subject marker → marks “cup” as what is doing the action)

넘치니: it's overflowing (don’t you see?) / it’s overflowing, you see (question form with soft, rhetorical tone)

  • 넘치다 (to overflow / be full to the point of spilling over) + -니 (ending used to ask or point something out → can feel like “don’t you see?” / “see how…?”)

염원하며: wishing earnestly and / while earnestly hoping (connector → expresses strong desire as a continuing action)

  • 염원하다 (to earnestly wish / to long for deeply) + -며 (connector → “and,” “while,” linking this action to what follows with a sense of simultaneity)

영원히: forever / eternally (adverb → describes duration, something continuing without end)

서로의: each other’s / one another’s (possessive)

  • 서로 (each other) + -의 (possessive marker → “’s”)

영혼이: soul(s) (subject)

  • 영혼 (soul / spirit) + -이 (subject marker → marks “souls” as the subject of the following action, even if the verb is omitted here)

그대 안에: inside you / within you

  • 그대 (you → poetic/literary form, more intimate and elevated than 너) + 안 (inside) + -에 (location particle → “in/inside”)

기댈래: I’ll lean on / I want to lean on (soft future / volitional expression)

  • 기대다 (to lean on / rely on / rest against) + -ㄹ래 (ending expressing speaker’s intention or desire → “I’ll…” / “I want to…”)

*He’s wishing for a kind of deep, lasting emotional connection. When he says their souls will “lean” into you, he doesn’t mean it physically—he means relying on each other completely, like finding comfort, support, and peace in the other person. “Within you” adds the idea of being emotionally held or safe inside that connection. So overall, he’s expressing a desire for their souls to stay close and depend on each other forever.
